Everyone Hates SookieHere's This Week's 'True Blood' Recap
Warning: This post contains spoilers.
With no vampires, werewolves or a friend in the world, Sookie's learning the world's an unkind place to a girl who helps turn her best friend into a vampire, not to mention a murderer.
For the first time in five seasons, we see Sookie crack under all the pressure of keeping lies and secrets from various outlets.
Meanwhile, Pam gets reunited with Eric (but it's not the welcoming she was hoping for,) someone gets killed, Lafayette's angry streak continues and we return to the faerie world.
Pam rescues Tara from her stupidity and takes her under her wing.
At the end of last week we watched Tara jump into a tanning booth to end her second life.
Naturally, Pam comes to rescue her newborn vampire, and, so Tara doesn't try again, she explicitly commands her to stay away from the suicide routine. Pam knows a lot about that.
Eric returns to Pam and he's not happy.
Eric finally returns to Shreveport and Pam greets him with great news ... that he's a grandfather.
He's in no mood for humor since he believes Pam dug up Russell.
He's dead wrong.
Pam is shocked her maker thinks she could have betrayed him after the two have spent more than a century together. It's clear to us, since he's been missing, how much she cares for Eric.
Eric says Pam would be a fool to ever die for him since he doesn't trust anyone.
Hurt, Pam asks for her maker to release her from his bind.
Eric releases Pam.
You ask, and you shall receive.
With the vampire authority wanting his blood, Eric decides it's in Pam's best interest to let her go.
He sees Pam as his only prodigy and wants her to live when (if?) he's gone since he believes his days are numbered.
In the wake of Eric leaving her, Pam starts to focus on mentoring Tara.
Everyone hates Sookie ... so she decides to visit Jason and set herself straight.
With Alcide and Lafayette mad with Sookie, she runs off to her brother's to turn over a new leaf and confess her crimes.
She figures the only way to crawl out of her hole is to start telling the truth.
"It's how Gran raised me. If you do the right thing, it'll be all right."
Where were these life lessons three episodes ago?
Alcide comes clean to Debbie Pelt's parents.
He tells them their daughter was murdered and he knows who's to blame.
Thankfully, he doesn't tell them about Sookie's involvement.
Instead, he makes up a bogus story about how Marcus—the pack master killed last season—is responsible for Pelt's death. How convenient.
We have a feeling this lie will come back to "bite" him.
Andy learns the Pelt's have gone back to Mississippi, saying they've found the closure they need.
Naturally, this makes no sense to Bellefleur and he tells Jason he's going to get a search warrant to search every property including Sookie's. Great.
In comes Jessica to glamour Andy and make him drop the case.
… well, that was a simple way to solve that matter.
Evil Lafayette messes with Sookie's car.
Remembering Sookie told Alcide the truth about Debbie, Lafayette let his angry magical monster take over and put a spell on the waitress' car.
When Sookie leaves Merlotte's she quickly finds her car brakes won't work.
When the vehicle quickly speeds up to 80 mph and she realizes she can't slow down, she dives out of the car watching her yellow Civic come to a crushing stop.
... With everything going in her favor, Sookie turns to the bottle.
That goes over well.
Meanwhile, Bill and Tara actually bond.
Tara used to hate Bill's guts because he was a vampire. However, now that she's one, too, she's having a change of heart.
Bill begins to ask about Sookie and Tara tells him to let it go.
She assures him she'll always be safe because someone will always be there to take a bullet for her.
Jessica tells Bill to go running to Sookie.
Forget Tara's advice. Jessica knows deep down, the two are crazy about each other. She also knows Sookie is falling apart at the seams.
Too bad Alcide gets there first.
The two begin drinking, one thing leads to another and Alcide's wishes are finally granted: he locks lips with Sookie.
Looks like Tara's advice is starting to make sense to Bill.
Jason and Andy end up in the faerie world, where we get introduced to Sookie's cousin, Hadley. She has some interesting news for Stackhouse.
Andy and Jason get invited to the faerie world. There, we see a lot of high authority folks and the faerie who Andy randomly ran into last season.
And, Hadley, Jason and Sookie's cousin turns up. Jason reveals that Sookie's alive and well—something the faeries didn't seem to know. Hadley tells Jason they need to get Sookie there, away from the vampires. After all, vampires killed Jason's parents.
Wait. Sookie and Jason believe their parents died in a flood.
Faster than you can say faerie, Jason and Andy get tossed back to Bon Temps and two faeries are on the attack.
What else is going on in (and around) Bon Temps:
- Sam's shifter friends return to invite him to join them. They're later found slaughtered.
- Chancellor Drew (see photo) receives the true death: Nora outs him as a traitor to the Vampire Authority.
- Bill and Eric need to watch their backs ... considering their every move is being tracked by the Authority, and Roman can instantly kill them at any moment with the use of an app.
- Patrick and Terry go off along Route 85 on their tangent war mission. This has absolutely nothing to do with vampires, werewolves or anything "True Blood" related. It's a storyline we can do without.
Anna Paquin has dual citizenship in the U.S. and Canada. See what other stars hail from the North.
